09–13 March 2026
The National Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (NBCLC), Bangalore, conducted a five-day Training in Word Preaching Ministry (WPM) from 09 to 13 March 2026. The programme aimed at deepening participants’ understanding of the Word of God and equipping them for an effective preaching ministry. It was guided by Rev. Dr. Nysson Luka, Assistant Director of NBCLC.
The training was inaugurated on 9 March by Rev. Dr. John Baptist, Director of NBCLC. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the transformative and living power of the Word of God, drawing from Hebrews 4:12. He encouraged participants to encounter the Word not merely as a text, but as a living reality to be experienced and proclaimed.
A total of 40 participants from various dioceses took part in the programme. The sessions were enriched by resource persons Mr. Seby Thomas, Mr. Ravi Naidu, and Mr. Anand Naidu, who offered practical insights into preaching and ministry.
The daily schedule included prayer, Holy Mass, and intensive sessions on listening to the Word, internalizing Scripture, and effective proclamation. Interactive activities such as group sharing and practical exercises helped participants deepen their engagement. Special emphasis was given to Mary as a model of attentive listening to the Word.
Evening programmes like Eucharistic Adoration, Word sharing, and intercessory prayers created a reflective atmosphere. The training concluded on 13 March with gratitude and renewed commitment.
Overall, the programme was a meaningful and enriching experience, empowering participants to become committed and effective ministers of the Word in today’s context.
