July 29th to August 5th 2025
The Religious Leadership Course (Batch-2) was an intellectually and spiritually enriching eight-day journey,
ran from July 29th to August 5th. The day's events commenced with a traditional welcome for the fathers
and Sisters, where Kumkum and sandal paste were offered as a mark of respect.
The course was formally inaugurated by Fr. Mathew Koyickal, General Secretary of the Catholic Bishops'
Conference of India (CBCI), the director, Fr. John Baptist, Assistant Director Fr. Nyson, and Fr. Sunil
from St. Peters’ Seminary as resource person. A group photo was taken with all participants, capturing the
spirit of unity and fellowship. Each day began with Morning Prayer and Holy Mass, setting a reflective and
sacred tone for the sessions.
Day 1: Canonical Aspects of Religious life.
Fr. Sunil initiated the session with a discussion on the canonical aspects of religious life, focusing on the
Societies of Apostolic Life. The session was both informative and insightful. The day concluded with Holy
Mass, followed by engaging ice-breaking games, fostering fellowship among participants.
Day 2: Safeguarding the Vulnerable
Fr. Merline and Mrs. Areline led the sessions, addressing the vital topic of safeguarding women, children,
and the vulnerable. Their discussion reinforced the importance of awareness, prevention, and responsive
action in protecting the dignity and safety of all, especially the most vulnerable members of society.
Day 3: Mid-Life Transition
The day began with prayer, Holy Mass, and the hoisting of the national flag, symbolizing unity and
patriotism. Fr. Tony Thambi facilitated a highly interactive session on mid-life transition, offering practical
insights into managing change and embracing growth during the midlife phase. His approach was reflective
and engaging.
Day 4: Understanding Mission
Fr. Jerry opened the day with an ice-breaking session followed by a discussion on the theme of mission. He
emphasized the necessity of having a clear understanding and deep commitment to one’s mission in order to
carry out ministries effectively. The session was thought-provoking and relevant.
Day 5: Leadership in Today’s Context
The day’s focus was on leadership, led by Fr. Kurien. He provided valuable insights on being an effective
and compassionate leader in today’s rapidly changing world. His session emphasized servant leadership,
vision, and responsibility.
Day 6: Bridging the Generation Gap
Bro. Paul Raj led a session on handling the generation gap. Discussions centered around the importance of
understanding, open communication, and adaptability to bridge generational differences and promote
harmony within communities.
Day 7: Women Empowerment
Sr. Metti Amirtham addressed the group on women empowerment. The session was dynamic and
informative, highlighting the ongoing need for gender equality, education, and leadership opportunities for
women. It emphasized the collective responsibility to uplift the status of women in all areas of life.
Day 8: Biblical Models of Leadership & Conclusion

The final day began with a thanksgiving prayer and Holy Mass. Fr. Patrick spoke on biblical leadership
models, offering timeless principles for leading with integrity, purpose, and a spirit of service.
The course concluded with a heartfelt thanksgiving session led by Sr. Rincy, who expressed gratitude to the
Director, Assistant Director, Sisters, and Staff. The closing was marked by a joyful celebration and a grand
meal at noon, bringing the course to a satisfying and memorable end.
