"Theme: Advanced Leadership Skills for Effective Religious and Pastoral Ministry Date: 9–16 July 2026 "

The National Biblical Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (NBCLC), Bangalore , organised an eight-day Religious Leadership Training Course for Formators and Superiors from 9–16 July 2026. The programme, centred on the theme "Advanced Leadership Skills for Effective Religious and Pastoral Ministry," brought together 72 participants, including women religious, priests, brothers, deacons, and sabbatical participants from various congregations and dioceses across India.

The programme was inaugurated with prayer and the traditional lighting of the lamp. In his welcome address, Fr. John Baptist, Director of NBCLC, encouraged the participants to renew and strengthen their leadership in the service of the Church.

The course provided a rich blend of spiritual renewal, theological reflection, canonical formation, and practical leadership training. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including the canonical foundations of consecrated life, safeguarding children and vulnerable persons, the POSH and Child Protection Policies, psycho-spiritual maturity, integrated leadership, the leadership style of Pope Francis, mission-oriented leadership, Gaudium et Spes and the Second Vatican Council, human trafficking, women empowerment and gender justice, and servant leadership for today's Church. The resource persons included Fr. Sunil Kumar D'Souza, Fr. Merlin, Mrs. Arlene Manoharan, Fr. Tony Thampi, CSC, Bro. Paul Raj, Fr. Jerry SJ, Fr. Christy, Mrs. Anita Cheria, and Mr. Venkatram.

Each day began with Morning Prayer and the Holy Eucharist, while the evenings featured Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, group prayer, recreation, community-building activities, and a historical visit in Bangalore , fostering spiritual renewal and fraternity among the participants.

The valedictory programme featured an overview of NBCLC's vision and future leadership initiatives by Fr. Nyson Luka, followed by a vote of thanks by Fr. Friny Peter. Certificates were distributed to all participants, bringing to a close eight enriching days of learning, leadership formation, spiritual renewal, and joyful fellowship.
