March 16–20, 2026
The National Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (NBCLC), Bengaluru, successfully conducted a five-day programme on Pastoral Animation & Facilitation Skills from 16 to 20 March 2026. The programme began with a prayerful inaugural session, including the traditional lighting of the lamp and a hymn of praise, setting a tone of unity and reflection.
A total of 27 participants from 12 dioceses and 3 religious congregations across India attended the programme. The sessions were designed to foster pastoral sensitivity, strengthen facilitation skills, and enhance effective ministry practices.
The first day focused on understanding pastoral identity and ministry, with sessions on developing pastoral aptitude and interpreting the signs of the times. Participants were also introduced to methods of pastoral planning. The day concluded with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by the Director of NBCLC.
The second day emphasized youth and children’s ministry, addressing contemporary challenges and equipping participants with strategies for meaningful engagement. Interactive group discussions and pastoral planning exercises enriched the learning experience.
The third day highlighted the importance of relationships and collaborative ministry. Sessions focused on dialogue, teamwork, and conflict resolution, along with approaches to socio-psycho-spiritual pastoral care.
The fourth day centered on family apostolate, exploring issues faced by families, couple relationships, and parenting. The sessions offered both scriptural insights and practical pastoral approaches. The day concluded with an outing that fostered fellowship among participants.
The final day focused on family-oriented pastoral planning and personal growth. Participants prepared personal pastoral plans and reflected on integrating spirituality with ministry. The programme concluded with an evaluation session.
Daily Eucharistic celebrations and community prayers enriched the spiritual atmosphere throughout the programme. The sessions were animated by experienced resource persons—Fr. Alex Marottikkal, Fr. Justin Kaitharath, Fr. Raju Akkara, and Fr. Vincent Kundukulam—who offered valuable insights and guidance.
The valedictory session included words of appreciation by the Director, Assistant Director, and Fr. Alex. Certificates were distributed to all participants. The vote of thanks was proposed by Fr. Thumma Dominick, who expressed gratitude to the NBCLC team, resource persons, and participants.
The programme concluded at 3:30 PM, marking the end of a fruitful and enriching experience that empowered participants for more effective pastoral ministry.
