19–23 May 2026
"Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life." (Proverbs 16:31)
The seminar on “Ageing Gracefully”, organized as part of the Golden Jubilee Programme, was held at NBCLC, Bangalore, from 19th to 23rd May 2026. Seven sisters, including Golden and Diamond Jubilarians from the Society of SMI and the Presentation Sisters, participated in this enriching and spiritually uplifting programme.
The seminar began with a prayerful inauguration and the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing Christ’s light guiding the journey of life. Rev. Sr. Vinnarasi explained the purpose of the programme, while Rev. Sr. Prassanna introduced the first resource person, Rev. Bro. Mani Karott of the Little Brothers of Jesus.
Through reflective sessions on the theme “Ageing Gracefully with a Purpose,” Bro. Mani invited participants to journey through the stages of life and reflect on important questions: Where do I come from? Where am I now? Where do I go? His inspiring presentations helped participants appreciate ageing as a meaningful and grace-filled stage of life. Sessions on the “Happiness Index” encouraged personal reflection on life’s joys, struggles, and God's faithful presence throughout the years.
On 21st and 22nd May, Rev. Dr. Xavier Doss, OCD, animated the sessions on the theme “Let Us Celebrate Life and Be Grateful to God.” He emphasized the importance of embracing ageing with gratitude, prayer, and hope. His inspiring message, “Aspire to inspire before you expire,” deeply touched the participants. He reminded everyone that the elderly continue to play a vital role in the Church and society through their wisdom, prayer, and ministry of presence.
The final day featured a practical and informative session by Rev. Sr. Dr. Violet FSAG on caring for and accompanying ageing sisters with dignity and compassion.
The programme concluded with evaluation and sharing sessions. Participants expressed gratitude for the enriching experience, which inspired them to embrace ageing with faith, hope, joy, and purpose. The seminar truly celebrated the beauty of life and God's enduring presence in every stage of the human journey.
